This project enhances a semi-detached property through a thoughtfully designed rear extension that transforms both the spatial quality and the way the home is experienced during everyday life and social gatherings. The extension introduces multiple skylights strategically positioned to draw natural light deep into the interior, creating a bright, uplifting atmosphere throughout the day.

At the rear, expansive sliding–folding doors open fully to reveal the garden, allowing the interior living space and the outdoor area to merge seamlessly. When opened, the boundary between inside and outside virtually disappears, creating a single, continuous space ideal for social events, family gatherings, and relaxed outdoor living.

The design prioritises flexibility, enabling the home to effortlessly shift between intimate, enclosed spaces and a large open environment that accommodates larger groups with ease. This fluid connection to the garden, combined with the abundant natural light from above, results in a warm, inviting extension that elevates the home’s functionality and its overall sense of openness.

The project showcases how thoughtful design interventions can enhance lifestyle, light, and spatial flow—turning a semi-detached house into a dynamic, modern living environment.
